Page Furman
Tamara Page Furman has been a practitioner of yoga for 15 years and a
teacher since 1997.
Following a five year teacher training course in the B.K.S. Iyengar School
of Yoga, Tamara began to broaden her studies by incorporating principles of
alignment from the Anusara system, as well as the techniques and spirtual teachings
of Shri Dharma Mittra.
Tamara has formally studied and practiced Shamantha-Vipassana Buddhist meditation
with Pema Chodrin and metta meditation with Sharon Salzberg. Profoundly informing
her own practice, these systems and disciplines are reflected in her teaching
style.
Tamara is
founder of Discover & Recover Yoga, an organization
promoting wellness of body, mind and spirit through the practices
of yoga, meditation
and chanting to patients in rehabilitation and other hospitalized
communities, as well as in local schools and communities. Through
her sensitive and
caring guidance in these contexts and in her own workshops, Tamara
shares with others how to work towards liberating oneself from
old life patterns,
reawakening inner strength, harmony and balance, and ultimately opening
oneself to awakening ones inner Divinity.
